I’m from Marion, Iowa, and I had my first eye exam when I was in elementary school after failing a screening. My parents took me to Iowa EyeCare. Honestly, I don’t remember much about my first exam, but I do recall getting my glasses. It was amazing. For the first time in my life I could see clearly and I can still remember my drive home from Iowa EyeCare’s Marion location. I couldn’t believe what I had been missing.

Over the next few years and through high school I had regular eye exams at Iowa EyeCare in Marion. I experienced first-class professionalism and the personal touch that the Iowa EyeCare doctors and staff invest with each and every patient. In junior high I started wearing contact lenses. It took me multiple hour-long sessions for me to learn how to take the lenses in and out of my eyes. The Iowa EyeCare staff was always patient and supportive. Later on, I learned how not to wear contact lenses, when I suffered from an eye infection. The on-call doctor came to the office on a Sunday morning to manage my mistake. The eye-drops he gave me made me feel better instantly and I will forever be grateful.

Now, as an optometrist I get to return the favors. I truly enjoy my job: helping people with their eyes and vision. It is more rewarding than I could have imagined. Working at Iowa EyeCare has only enhanced my positive opinion of the practice. Everyone at Iowa EyeCare cares as deeply as I do for the well-being of our patients.
